FSC International Generic Indicators 1st Draft Consultation

The IGI Working Group have concluded their work for 7 of the Principles

We are pleased to announce that the IGI Working Group have concluded their work on the 1st Draft for consultation of Principles 1 to 5 and Principles 8 and 9. This will form the first package available for consultation.

The IGI Working Group require that they have a couple of days to view the final version of this draft before it is made publicly available and so these Principles will be posted on this Website on Monday 18th February, by noon CET.

A second package will be available by 1st March, containing Principles 6, 7 and 10.

The consultation period will officially end 60 days after the second package has been posted. These 60 days will count for the Spanish version once it´s fully published.

On this website, there will also be details about the consultation, including the Regional and National Processes. Stakeholders are encouraged to give their feedback through the National and Regional consultations, details of which will shortly be available here. You can also contribute through the online survey, which can also be accessed from this website.

This is your opportunity to contribute to the development of the International Generic Indicators, which will form the baseline for FSC National Standards and replace the Certification Body Standards where they still exist.

There are a number of key questions the IGI Working Group have posed within the IGIs for feedback from you. These will form the focus of regular meetings to be held by the IGI Working Group during the consultation period and we will post these on the website to ask for your specific feedback on these questions as we get to them. Results of these discussions will also be posted on the website during this period in order to keep you informed of the debate.

We very much look forward to your feedback and would like to thank and congratulate the IGI Working Group for the extensive amount of time and effort they have put in to preparing the IGIs for consultation to date.
